To ensure all of our designs are “Fit for Purpose” AST has a dedicated team to complete all of the analysis required.
In the early stages of development we use MathCAD to design & document engineering calculations simultaneously with applied math functionality. This gives us initial piece of mind the design is “Fit for Purpose”.
When we go into more detailed analysis we utilise a world leading suite of software written by Altair called Hyperworks. This Is the central simulation platform that all of the Altair products work off. In brief, these are the different parts of the suite we utilise.
HyperMesh - Is a high-performance FE pre-processor that provides a highly interactive & visual environment to analyze product design performance. With the ability to interface to most CAD & CAE systems, it provides a proven, consistent analysis platform for the entire enterprise. We not only use this to ensure a design is strong enough, but also to access material reduction to save manufacture cost!
RADIOSS - Is a next-generation, finite element analysis solver for linear & non-linear simulations. It can be used to simulate structures, fluids, fluid-structure interaction, sheet metal stamping & even blast deformation for military vehicles.
HyperCrash - Is a robust, pre-processing environment specifically designed to automate the creation of high-fidelity models for crash analysis & safety evaluation.
As with the CAD packages, if our client requires a different software we would source it & train our engineers in its use.
